We seek to hire a legal counsel of commercial legal who will be a key member of the growing legal team supporting AliExpress marketing business. The attorney will be based in our Hangzhou office. Job Description: 1. Reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, AliExpress, advise on legal aspects of the platform’s international growth of current and new e-commerce businesses, with a focus on marketing and AI compliance. 2. Provide advice on marketing compliance, consumer protection, AI compliance and other compliance matters. 3. Research local laws and regulations in the local jurisdictions and manage external counsels. 4. Provide advice to business teams on legal aspects of the implementation of commercial agreements, business models and strategies and business operations. 5. Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, commercial agreements, platform rules and policies. 6. Address and respond to requests from overseas law enforcement agencies. 7. Develop in-house legal tools (including AI tools) and policies, and conduct trainings to business units.

1. At least 5-7 continuous years of practice as a qualified lawyer. Current legal license (bar qualification) to practice in China and/or the US, England and Wales or Hong Kong; 2. In-house legal experience at a leading e-commerce platform or multinational corporation preferred, with a solid understanding of e-commerce business models and key compliance challenges, in particular with respect to marketing compliance, consumer protection and AI compliance; 3. Direct experience handling regulatory investigations, inquiries, or enforcement proceedings initiated by overseas authorities preferred; 4. Chinese and English language proficiency is essential; 5. Highly responsible, independent, high integrity and team-oriented, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to risk management; 6. Ability to work with different locations across time-zones; 7. Sincere interest in technology, innovation and business. Strong commercial sense with solid foundation in legal training; 8. Open to international travel as may be necessary.
